Pope at Washington Circle
My co-worker wanted to see the Pope so I went with her to Washington Circle (two Metro stops away). Almost as soon as we got to the Circle we saw the motorcade and I saw the Pope-mobile before I even had my camera ready.
I felt sorry for one older lady. She was walking really slow and had literally only missed him by a few seconds.
I found it interesting that Catholics and non-Catholics alike (I’m not Catholic) were standing out there waiting for the Pope. In the Metro station a guy came up to me (something that I’m sure wouldn’t talk to me under normal circumstances) to see if I had gotten a good picture of the Pope. I thought that was really interesting.
Back outside of McPherson Square metro station, we heard sirens. One of the traffic officers who work that corner asked rhetorically “Is that him?” bursting with excitement. I thought that was interesting too.
Roque Drawing – First Flickr Video
I uploaded my first video to Flickr. I definitely like their Flash conversion better than that of YouTube or Utterz.
Broke
Current gas prices definitely take a toll on the wallet. I wish I lived closer in to the city where I wouldn’t need a car.

Cattle
This is what happens when you go to see the cherry blossoms on the day of the Cherry Blossom Festival.
Anti-War Protest 3-19-2008
I went for lunch and stumbled upon one of the many anti-war protests in Washington, DC yesterday.
About 3 minutes in there was an altercation that I didn’t fully capture as I was trying to figure out what was going on and if I needed to move.
The video is just under 7 minutes and 100MB. If you are hurting for bandwidth, try the Flash version.
